Privacy Policy

intone · updated 17 October 2026

Short version: Intone listens to you sing, keeps your practice scores on your own iPhone, and sends nothing to anyone. The developer receives no data from the app.

does it record me?

No. While you are using the tuner or a warm-up, the microphone signal is turned into a pitch reading as it arrives and then thrown away. No audio is saved, nothing can be played back, and nothing is sent anywhere. You can turn the microphone off for Intone in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone; the app still opens, it just cannot hear you.

what does it remember?

Only what you would expect from a practice log, stored in the app's own database on your iPhone:

None of this is uploaded. If your iPhone is backed up with iCloud or to a computer, Apple's backup may include the app's data, which is covered by Apple's own policy. Deleting Intone deletes all of it, and the About screen (top right of Progress) has a button that clears every saved session and range reading without deleting the app.

who else gets anything?

Nobody. Intone has no account system, no server, no analytics and no advertising, and it contains no code from third parties apart from Apple's own frameworks. It never asks to track you across other apps or websites, so the tracking prompt never appears.

what about paying?

Intone Pro is bought through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; the developer never sees your name, card or Apple Account. The app is told one thing by the App Store: whether a subscription is active. You can cancel it any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

children

Intone is a singing tool with no chat, no sharing and no user-generated content. Because it collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children either.

your rights

Data protection laws such as the GDPR let you ask what a company holds about you and to have it erased. The developer holds none of your data. What exists is on your iPhone, in the app, and you control it: you can see it on the Progress screen and remove it by deleting the app.

if this changes

If a later version of Intone ever collects anything, this page will say so, and the App Store privacy details will change, before that version is released.
